Flashback...

I was messing around on Facebook yesterday and joined my highschool graduating class... I decided to click on pictures for a giggle. Well I clicked and got the shock of the century! There I was....right in the middle! My History class had taken a trip back East and here was a pic of the group!! I really hadn't thought that much about highscool over the years so get all the gigles you want... I'm still in shock!!! LOL By the way i totally stole the pic from Patty!!

Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are my all time favorite! Perfect for any time of year, any occasion!!! Try some!

Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 C shortening
¾ C sugar
¾ C brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 ½ C flour
2 C oatmeal
1 C nuts (optional)
1 package (2 C ) chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugars. Stir in beaten egg and vanilla. Stir in salt soda flour and oatmeal. Stir in nuts and chips. Form cookies and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes

Caits and Kieran

Caitlin is on Spring break and decided to come see us! We are so lucky to have her come. She is such a wonderful part of our family. Emma can't get enough of her big sis! Caitlin is a junior in high school in Gilbert, Arizona. Every once in a while she likes to come to the "cooler" climate! She plays soccer for Higley High School, scoops frozen custard at a Neilsons Custard shop...plays the piano and is an excellent student! She is beautiful inside and out. We cherish every moment spent with her.

I looked out the window and there was Tilly... sunning herself underneath the bird feeder, not a care in the world! Cracked me up.

Whole Wheat Bread

I finally found a whole wheat bread recipe I like! It actually worked.
The bread was edible! (so edible that we have almost eaten both loaves in 3 days!)
I halved the recipe because when I tried the whole recipe my kitchen aid mixer started to smoke and smell funny! OOPS somethings not right so that batch was dumped:)I was so excited to make bread and the result was well worth all the trying! There is nothing better than bread cooking in the oven! YUM!

Fashion Show

Emma and Kieran got thier Easter outfits and we had a little Fashion show :)Kieran not sure he likes the picture posing!Isn't he cute in his argyle vest and so fashionable with his shirt hanging out!
Emma also wanted to hula hoop in her new outfit saying it made her do it better.She is actually getting the hang of it. What hips she has are really swingin'.... She is a giggle a minute and never fails to put a smile on my face!

Mom's Quilt for Kieran ...........

I thought i would share my mom's latest creation. A baby quilt for Kieran.
A combination of all different squares in shades of blue, green and aqua. Each square is hand quilted in a different pattern. I think it is beautiful. click on the picture to enlarge!
The other quilt is a king size one mom did for Leslie and Paul. It's calles a kaliedescope pattern all squares are unique. Isn't she amazing?

Did I mention I have a Bird?

Her name is Snuggles (I did not name her, shes not so snuggly with me). I said I would take her when Leslie's sister was moving overseas and she has been with me ever since. I'm not sure how old she is but will probably outlast me! She LOVES men she gets really animated when she hears a male voice.If she is (walking) around she will climb up on them. Whenever there are sports on tv she is chatting away to the commentators. To me not so much....The only thing she says to me is "whose a pretty bird". She likes to sit on my shoulder and nibble on my earring or necklace..She's a Diva and likes bling! LOL She goes crazy if I have a potato chip(I think it's the salt)so I share one...hoping she will "sing" for me... no luck. I am basically ignored. Except when I accidently leave the cage door open, she goes flyabout(with clipped wings) and she lands on an artificial flower, hanging on for dear life, does she want help from me. She loves to ring her bell and loves to whistle some song that I have no idea what it is... especially if it will echo... Yeah life is good!
